KOHIMA: S Pangnyun Phom, Minister for Health and Family welfare of Nagaland, revealed yesterday that the state had registered zero COVID-19 positive cases for the 7th straight day.

 

Giving his regular COVID-19 update on Twitter, Phom had stated, "Update! No +ve case & No recoveries of COVID-19 reported today."

With zero COVID-19 new positive cases, Nagaland's total tally of positive cases stands at 12,225, out of which 11,978 patients had already recovered. The state has only 2 active cases at this moment.

The last positive cases were reported on March 13, where 4 people found positive in the state, and there were 14 active cases then.

 

Earlier on March 11, the Nagaland government had decided to relax a number of restrictions on various activities in the state, which includes the re-opening of the primary section of classes one to five in schools, government offices to start with maximum attendance, and also enclosed spaces such as theatre halls and sports facilities, which will resume regular operations.

 

It needs mention here that Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio received the first shot of the Covishield on March 3 at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) as the third-phase vaccination programs are going on all across the country.

 

As per the latest update on COVID-19 released by the Home Ministry of India, the total COVID-19 cases of India stands at 1,15,99,130. Among them, 3,09,087 cases are active and 1,11,30,288 have recovered.
