A 23-year-old woman from Nagaland died onboard a Shramik Special train en route to Dimapur from Gurugram in Haryana on May 22, 2020.

The deceased is identified as Nchineileu Disuang of Beisumpuikam village in Peren district in Nagaland.

As per information, the woman, who was stranded in Gurugram after the lockdown was enforced, was sick and advised not to travel. But, she insisted to return to her native place.

The woman was working as a teacher in Gurugram. “But by the end of last year, she had decided to work in Kasauli resort in Himachal Pradesh. But, due to lockdown the resort closed down and she had shifted to Delhi,” one of her family members said as Nagaland Express reported.

As per information, the body of the deceased was de-boarded at Kanpur Railway station and sent to post mortem examination.

The special train arranged by the Haryana government for the stranded citizens of Northeast India departed from Gurugram railway station at around 06:00 pm on May 22, 2020, to Dimapur with 1345 stranded citizens of Northeast India on board.

A total of 426 stranded citizens of Nagaland had boarded the train along with the people from of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Assam. The train is expected to arrive at Dimapur railway station on May 24, 2020 morning.
