The National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) said that there can be no solution for the Naga people of Nagaland without the Naga flag.

It may be mentioned that the Central government has categorically rejected the demand for separate Naga flag and its constitution. The peace talk process between the Centre and NSCN and NNPGs is in progress and likely to be concluded by September as the government has set a deadline of September.

Meanwhile, the NSCN has accused the interlocutor cum the governor of the state RN Ravi of misinterpreting the Naga framework.

“As Naga people commemorate the declaration of Naga Independence on this day the 14th August, 1947, passion runs high among the Naga people as they hoisted the Rainbow flags all over Nagalim, including Eastern Nagalim in Myanmar. It was the reminiscence of the day when the spirit of self-determination and freedom sparks the declaration of Naga independence and which changed the course of Naga political journey as the Government of India wantonly used military force to suppress the political freedom of the Naga people. But the spirit and passion just refused to die,” a press communique stated.

For the Nagas, Rainbow flag is a God given political identity of the Naga people. It is a Covenant between God and Naga people. It is therefore, unthinkable for the Nagas to sideline the Naga flag in the Naga solution that both the NSCN and Government of India is trying to find a way out.
