Kohima: The Young Guns of Nagalim (TYGON), a Naga body, recently lambasted the Nagaland Governor R N Ravi for his alleged "divide and rule policy" during the ongoing peace talk process with the Centre.

In a missive, the body said that the Nagaland Governor Ravi has "succeeded in making NNPG's his personal broom to brainwash some handful of immature Nagas."

Ravi's actions, the organization said, made one look back at the Indian history of "The Revolt of 1857."

"We do know that SC.Jamir is the avatar of Jayajirao Scindia who betrayed Rani Lakhsmi Bai of Jhansi. And you Indian government are taking advantage of it," the TYGON said, adding, "We are not blind to the history of who was behind the bloody break-up of NSCN that ended up by forming separate NSCN-IM & NSCN-K in 1988?"

"There are still thousands of Bhagat Singh who are planning to plant the seeds of guns in every fields of Nagalim," the TYGON wrote in its letter, issuing a veiled threat to the Governor. "You may have bought some hundreds of faithless Naga brethrens with your power and money. But, as long as this Earth rotates, you will never be able to change our sense of patriotism," the note added.

The body urged the Governor to "think deeply" and not to play with the "visions and patience."

"Now, you are directing the divide and rule policy thus sowing the seeds of war. Let it be. We will mercilessly hunt down our traitors for their is no room for forgiveness this time. They have openly betrayed us. We will not rest until every single of them are wiped away...", the TYGON threatened.

We are ready to die holding our Naga National flag with a smile of faith and hope, the note said.

The already fragile peace talks between the government of India and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) or NSCN (I-M), the largest rebel group in the country’s northeastern region, are likely to hit new roadblocks with the latter hardening its stand on the issue of a separate flag and constitution.

On Oct. 15, a crucial meeting between the Nagaland government and civil society groups passed a resolution urging the Naga armed groups to honor and respect the “Covenant of Reconciliation” and maintain the sanctity of non-violence for a “shared Naga future” as members of “one Naga family.” It is yet to be seen how NSCN (I-M) will react to these developments.
