The NSCN(IM) said that it will be a horrible loss for both the Nagas and the Indians if they miss this "second bus."

The NSCN (IM) on Wednesday urged all of the Nagas to seize the opportunity, amid speculations that the government of India wants to solve the Naga political issue within three months. The group also stated that the Naga community does "not accept Indian constitution."

In a statement released by the rebel body, they stated that the “NSCN represents the Naga people and the national issue” and that it will prove costly for both India and Nagas if the peace talks don’t come to a logical conclusion that is acceptable to both parties.

“It will be a horrible loss for both the Nagas and the Indians if they miss this second bus. No one should doubt that Framework Agreement is the meeting point for the Nagas and the Indians. The Nagas and the Indians are inseparably inter-related in many fields,” read the communique.

The group also warned that the Naga community will not merge into the Union of India, but they will co-exist with the Union of India as two entities. "Nagas are a recognised entity. Nagas do not accept Indian constitution, but Nagas and Indians will share sovereign powers based on competencies,” said the NSCN.

The NSCN further stated that the Government of India "are welcome if they want to be part of the Framework Agreement."

It also recalled late Isak Chishi Swu’s statement: “We have forgiven the past mistakes of our brothers in different camps. They should also forgive our past mistakes and unite in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”

The Framework Agreement is the meeting point for Indians and Nagas as well as uniting point for the divided Nagas, it said.

The NSCN also condemned the opportunists, deserters, opponents and detractors who have never fought for the cause have now started claiming their shares when solution is around and that “they are claiming the harvest they have not laboured for.”
