MUMBAI: A Mumbai court is likely to hear the bail pleas of Comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiya on Monday — a day after the duo were sent to judicial custody till December 4 in drug-related cases. However, it may get postponed as the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) will also file its replies on the bail pleas.

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) will file its replies on comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa's bail pleas today. The Special public prosecutor added, "As I am busy with other cases today, we will request for some other date of argument."

NCB informed that both Bharti and Harsh have admitted to have consumed ganja. After Harsh was arrested on Sunday, the couple was produced before a magistrates court on Sunday which remanded them to judicial custody. Soon after the court order, the couple filed bail pleas through advocate Ayaz Khan.

Singh and Limbachiya have been booked under sections 20(b)(ii)(A) (involves small quantity of drugs) and 8(c) (possession of drugs) and 27 (consumption of drugs) of the NDPS Act.

On Saturday, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) conducted a raid at comedian Bharti Singh’s residence in Mumbai and found '86.5 grams of ganja'. This comes amid investigations into a “drug angle” in actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.

According to the experts, upto one kg of ganja is small quantity, above that is intermediate and 20 kgs and above is considered to be commercial quantity.

"The seized drugs is small quantity and all offences punishable with a imprisonment for a term of unto one years with a fine or both and are triable by the magistrate court." said Advocate Ayaz Khan.
