Kathmandu, January 29, 2020:
Nepal has set a new Guinness World Record for hosting the first highest altitude fashion show, “Mount Everest Fashion Runway”
The fashion show, which created history was organized by at 5,340 meters (17,515 feet) elevation at Kala Patthar. The motive was to raise awareness about climate change and to send the message that Nepal is the destination for all activities.
KASA Style in partnership with RB Diamond, Nepal Tourism Board and Visit Nepal Year 2020 Secretariat had organized the event on January 26. The fashion show is considered to be one of the first highlight events of the Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign.
The Mount Everest Fashion Runway showcased KASA’s designs and the materials used during the show are said to be organic and are from KASA’s Nepali product line. Models from different parts of the world walked in KASA’s winter wear, which was made of Nepali pashmina and yak wool. RB Diamond also presented its jewelry line.

A team of 48 people started their trek from Lukla on January 18 toward Kala Patthar. MTV USA and Canada will be telecasting the journey in the Everest Base Camp route in May 2020.
According to reports, KASA had ensured that the participants did not add to the pollution in the Himalayas and therefore used bio-degradable designed clothes, shampoo, detergent, waterless bath and solar technology on the trek to Kala Patthar.
