A 27-year-old woman, in a COVID-19 quarantine centre in Manipur after her return from Goa, gave birth to a baby boy.

The baby boy was born on the Pentecost Day  May 31st, 2020, at the Emmanuel School.  The parents decided to name the child Emmanuel Quarantino.

The mother, Anjali Hmangte, gave birth to the baby soon after she bid her last farewell to her father who passed away at Kangpokpi district headquarters.

The couple reached the district headquarter on May 27th, from Goa via Jiribam in a Shramik Special Train. “They were kept under surveillance in a single room at the quarantine centre,” Dr Paotinlal Haokip, Kangpokpi district hospital superintendent (in-charge), said.
