Nine people, who attended US President Donald Trump's rally on the 18th of September in Minnesota, have recently been tested positive for COVID-19.

Kris Ehresmann, the state's infectious disease director said, "Nine cases reported attending the rally. One case was known to be infectious. There were two hospitalizations that were associated with that. One who is in intensive care and no deaths at this point.”

Taking place in an airplane hangar, at least 2,000 people attended the rally, according to a news portal.

This comes after Trump announced on Twitter that he will hold a rally in Sanford, Florida to mark his return in the election campaign trail, since his COVID-19 diagnosis.

"Will be in Sanford, Florida on Monday for a very BIG RALLY!" the US President said in a tweet.

Last week, Trump and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for coronavirus. However, Trump returned to the White House on 5th October after being treated for Covid-19 for three days at the hospital. Trump was spotted removing his mask to pose for photos on a balcony before walking into the residence.

Showing his fitness, Trump climbed up the South Portico stairs, instead of the elevators, to go to his residence as he went on to waive at the reporters.

The president, after taking off his mask, stood up in the portico facing South Lawns for a few minutes and saluted Marine One.

Earlier, he was discharged from the Walter Reed National Medical Center after doctors treating him found that he was fit enough to go back home.
