ITANAGAR: Congress MLA from Pasighat West Ninong Ering has written two letters to Home Minister of India Amit Shah and Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank requesting them to include a chapter about Northeast India in CBSE and other states Boards Education System.

"This is my humble request not only as a representative but as a common citizen of North East India. This step can lead to elimination of frequent cases of racial discrimination against us," Ering wrote in his letter.

Yesterday, the people from the Northeastern region of India has stormed Twitter and made #NortheastMatters and #AchapterforNE trend across the country with lakhs of tweets under the same.

"The world needs to know about us and learn about our History, Geography Culture and other aspects," Ering opined.

A few weeks back, Ninong Ering faced racism by three non-Northeastern YouTubers of India who termed Ninong Ering as Chinese and non-Indian based upon his 'looks', also went a step ahead, and said Arunachal Pradesh itself is in China following Ering's demand to stop relaunch of PUBG in India.

That caused a social outrage immediately among the Northeastern. Police booked one YouTuber Paras Singh from Punjab and handed him over to Arunachal police.

But the fire of racism stoked inside of every northeastern finally burst out and they are not ready to let this go easily this time.

All made out education system accountable where due to a lack of information about Northeast India in other parts of the country, the so-called 'mainland', do not know about this region, and that lack of knowledge results in racism. Hence the Northeastern came out together asking a place for them in school textbooks.

Ninong Ering reminded, "These demands are on the line of key recommendations made by Bezbaruah Committee Report and also a Private member bill introduced by me in 2017 for the compulsory teaching of North East Syllabus."
