NEW DELHI: Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal today said that over the past 22 months no single passenger death due to train accidents has been reported.

 

Speaking about the status of railway bridges in Rajya Sabha, minister Goyal said, "In the last 6 years, we have focused more and more on safety. The last passenger died due to rail accident on March 22, 2019. Around 22 months, we have not had a single report of passenger death due to train accidents. "

 

The minister said that the government has focused its attention on the repair and maintenance of the bridge.

"Once before the monsoon, once after the monsoon, we have a very strong system of inspection.
