No Transfer in Exchange for Money in Diphu Medical College: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Guwahati, November 15, 2019:

Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, handing over the appointment letters to the nurses and technical persons for Diphu Medical College and Hospital, said that no transfer will be entertained in exchange of money as long as he is in the ministry.

The statement was made by Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday while handing over the appointment letters to the nurses and technical persons, who have qualified for the enrollment at the new Diphu Medical College and Hospital.

Strictly announcing that the employees will not be transferred from the appointed place, Sarma added, “Till I am the minister of this department, no one will be able to take transfer in exchange of money with the help of any middle-man.”

The minister also congratulated the selected candidates and said they have been appointed based on their merit alone. “If anyone has collected money from you in the name of appointment, ask for your money back", he told the gathering.

Sarma also mentioned that the appointment has been done as per the guidelines of the Medical Council of India, and 40 more nurses and other technical staffs will be appointed from March 1, 2010. He also mentioned that 50% to 60% of the appointed candidates are from Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.

The Hospital will initiate the OPD services from November 25, onwards. The minister further added that 80% of the work has been completed and more instruments will soon be installed for better treatment of the patients.
