North Korea Shuts Borders to Prevent Coronavirus Outbreak

New Delhi, February 29, 2020:

North Korea has shut its borders in order to prevent an outbreak of Coronavirus. Leader Kim Jong Un is trying all things possible to keep the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19) away from his territory.

In a latest order, he asked his officials to close all its borders and warned of “serious consequences” if the disease breaks out in North Korea.

Kim ordered his officials to “seal off all the channels and space through which the infectious disease may find its way.” North Korea, as a precautionary measure, has banned tourists, suspended international trains and flights and placed hundreds of foreigners in quarantine to prevent an outbreak.

The autocratic ruler observed that the battle against Coronavirus was a “crucial state affair for the defence of the people”, which required maximum discipline. He also added that if the infectious disease found its way into North Korea, it would entail serious consequences.

It needs mention here that globally, Coronavirus which originated in China, has claimed more than 2800 lives and over 84,000 people have been infected.

Pyongyang has not reported a single case of Coronavirus. North Korea has therefore, come up with measures to prevent from an outbreak within its territory.
