GUWAHATI: Over the next 5 days, broad to widespread rainfall is highly expected in Northeast India.

Isolated heavy rain is also possible in Assam and Meghalaya during this time, with the possibility of very heavy showers tomorrow on 26th June, 2021.

Rainfall will be rather heavy and constant throughout the region for the rest of this week and into the next week.

From Sunday forward, the rain is forecast to become more heavy.

In Arunachal Pradesh and neighbouring Assam, about 250 mm of rain is forecast, posing a risk of swollen rivers, flooding and inundation.

Rain will continue to fall around the Konkan and Malabar coasts, with some modest activation on Sunday and Monday.

Over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected on Friday.

Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Goa, and Coastal Karnataka are all expected to have widespread rain and thunderstorms. Isolated heavy spells are likely across parts of Arunachal Pradesh and West Bengal's Sub-Himalayan region on Saturday.

Meanwhile, during the next 24 hours, moderate to severe thunderstorms with frequent cloud to ground lightning are expected over Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, north Haryana & Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh. This could result in injuries and deaths among humans and animals who are out in the outdoors.
