NPP to soon announce names of candidates for Mizoram polls

Guwahati, November 1, 2018:

National People’s Party (NPP) president and Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma, informed that the NPP would soon announce the names of its candidates for Assembly elections in Mizoram.

Talking to reporters, Sangma said the NPP had already shortlisted 10 to 15 candidates. He predicted that it would be a tough fight among the ruling Congress, Mizo National Front and other small political parties of the region.

The NPP has already left an imprint in Manipur and Nagaland. In Manipur, the party’s all four MLAs are ministers. One is, in fact, the deputy chief minister.
