NRC online correction procedure for names and other particulars begins from Jan 2

Guwahati, January 1, 2019:

After the deadline passed for the claims and objections for National Register of Citizens (NRC), the online procedure for spelling correction and other particulars in the draft will begin from 10 am onwards on January 2, 2019.

The notification for the same was issued by NRC Assam, the nodal office of the NRC updating process in the State issued on December 31, 2018.

The NSK Seva Kendras are facilitated with correction forms till January 31 so the one who have correction of their names or any other particulars in the NRC draft can submit their correction forms at their respective NSK Seva Kendras.

The notification further states that the correction processes do not have any provisions for submission of claims and objections.

The process of filing claims and objections started on September 25 last year. It was supposed to end on December 15, but the Supreme Court, which is monitoring the entire process of updating the NRC in the state, extended the last day to December 31.
