DIMAPUR: The Isaak-Muivah faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) has taken a strong exception to the "baseless allegation" of kidnapping Oil officers attached with Kipo Oil and Infrastructure at Kumchakha in Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang district.

"Where are the slightest hints to connect NSCN with the kidnapping? Such an irresponsible manner of reports without ascertaining the factual truth is condemnable by all the right-thinking organizations," the NSCN-IM stated in a release issued by the publicity wing at Camp Hebron.

"What is all the more indignant is to put the terrorist tag on NSCN," the organization added, lambasting reports in some sections of media, terming the insurgent body as "terrorists."

"There is no such terrorist organization that goes by the name NSCN which is engaged in a political negotiation. Such a manner of cheapness in the report of Bhupen Goswami is strongly condemned by NSCN. He should mature himself in his journalism to establish his credibility," the statement further added, slamming media.

It needs mention here that two employees of a private oil drilling company were abducted by a group of unidentified miscreants in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district on Monday evening.

According to officials, around 10 armed miscreants and took away PK Gogoi, a drilling superintendent, and Ram Kumar, a radio operator, from the company’s drilling location in Diyun, on foot.

The incident is believed to be the outcome of an unfulfilled extortion demand, and fingers have also been pointed at the NSCN-IM, which is one of the biggest insurgent groups in the Northeast.

Devansh Yadav, deputy commissioner of Changlang, has said that there is not enough evidence to pinpoint the kidnapping to any one particular group, and investigations are currently underway.
