HAFLONG: The Polling officials today moved for repolling at two polling stations in Haflong LAC (ST) constituency to be held on April 20.

Repolling will be held in two polling stations-- 107 Mualdam L. P school and 107A Khothlir L.P School.

The repolling directive from the Election Commission of India came after around 180 numbers vote has been casted on April 1 in these two polling stations, even though it had 90 eligible voters.

In a statement to the ECI, the presiding officer and the first polling officer admitted that they had permitted voters registered at the main polling station, Mouldam LP School, to vote at the auxiliary polling station.

As a result, re-polling has been ordered in both booths.

Re-polling has also been ordered in 463 Madhya Dhanehori LP School polling booth in Sonai constituency which voted on April 1.

Because of three people were injured in firing incident on election day, prompting the state's deputy speaker and BJP candidate Aminul Haque Laskar to be questioned by police, and five police officers assigned to him to be suspended.
