MARGHERITA: One Notorious thief was apprehended by the Ledo Police Outpost under Margherita Sub Division in Ledo, Tinsukia district of Assam on late Sunday night.
According to sources, the accused has been identified as Sabir Ahmed (20) a resident of Jharna Basti, Ledo.
He was caught by the locals on late Sunday night and later handed over to the Ledo Police Outpost.
The locals said that Ahmed created panic in the Ledo area by stealing essential commodities for many days.
A case number (124/21 US 457,38) has been registered at the Margherita Police Station and he has been undertaken to judicial custody.
