One sentenced to death for raping minor in Hojai

Guwahati, 25 January 2019:

In a historic move, the Additional District and Sessions Judge in Assam’s Hojai have awarded death penalty to one named Krishna Rajgarh alias Sagar (27) for the rape and murder of a minor girl.

The 7-year old girl, who belonged to No.2 Sashtri village in Lumding, was convinced by Krishna to go along with him following which the brutal crime took place.

The convict took the girl to a nearby deserted forest and raped her. After the horrific crime, he chocked the girl to death, sealed the dead body in jute sack and disposed it off.

Krishna was working as a domestic help in the girl’s home.

The court awarded the death sentence to the key accused under sections 376 (A), 302 and 201 of IPC.
