Pak forces violate ceasefire again at Kashmir’s Poonch Sector

Guwahati, January 9, 2019:

In the fifth incident of ceasefire this week, Pak forces resorted to heavy shelling and firing along the LOC at Poonch Sector’s Gulpur in Jammu and Kashmir. The firing was unprovoked and started at around 09:00 am today. Small fire arms as well as well as shelling with heavy caliber weaponry was used.

Officials have stated that the Indian armed forces have reacted strongly. Last year saw the highest number of ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops in the last fifteen years with 2,936 such violations having occurred.
