Guwahati, August 22, 2019:

Pakistan has urged the United Nations (UN) to drop the (former?) 'Awesome Assam ambassador Priyanka Chopra as the goodwill ambassador of the UNICEF.

Pakistan's Human Rights Minister, Shireen Mazari, wrote a letter to the United Nations (UN), urging them to sack the Bollywood actress from her position in the UNICEF.

In a letter, addressed to UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta H. Fore, Pakistan’s Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari said the Bollywood actor supports the Indian Government’s policies on Kashmir.

The letter read, "Ms Chopra has publicly endorsed this Indian Government position and also supported the nuclear threat issued to Pakistan by the Indian Defence Minister. All this goes completely against the principles of peace and goodwill that Ms Chopra is supposed to uphold as an UN Goodwill Ambassador for Peace."

It may be mentioned here that Chopra had also come under fire for supporting the Indian army troops in a Twitter post earlier.

Meanwhile, the relations between India and Pakistan continue to remain strained following the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A in Pakistan.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has gone on anti-India rhetoric rants on Twitter after the Indian Government's move and was recently seen drawing parallels with the Hitler-era Nazi regime in Germany and the BJP government in India. Khan said that “to understand the link between Nazi ideology & the ethnic cleansing & genocide ideology of RSS-BJP Founding Fathers just Google”.

In another tweet, Khan added, “Already 4m Indian Muslims face detention camps & cancellation of citizenship. World must take note as this genie is out of the bottle & the doctrine of hate & genocide, with RSS goons on the rampage, will spread unless the international community acts now to stop it.”
