Dimapur: The Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur Rajesh Soundararajan on February 9 informed that movement of trucks carrying essential commodities and oil tankers only will be allowed in the Chathe River Bridge (Patkai Bridge) to Kukidolong stretch from February 10 to 13 between 1:00 am to 4:00 pm in order to ensure availability of essential commodities.

 

However, total restriction for light vehicles and pedestrians will continue as a precautionary measure to prevent any injury, loss of life and damage to the property till further orders, the DC notified.

“The trucks/vehicles carrying essential commodities/fuel etc shall strictly adhere to all the traffic regulations and maintain a distance of at least 30 (thirty) metres between vehicles. The traffic personnel shall strictly monitor and facilitate the movement accordingly,” the notice stated.

 

"General public should take the alternative route from Dimapur-Kohima/Kohima- Dimapur for light vehicles only via 7th Mile – New DC office – Shokhuvi – Razaphe – Mhaikam – Pimla- Mhainamtsi – Jhornapani/Medziphema, and vice-versa," the notice further added.
