PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ video gets over 4.5 Lakh dislikes on YouTube

Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat', the monthly radio programme has become one of the most disliked videos on the YouTube channel of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The video, which was streamed live on August 30, Sunday, has over 1.5M views. BJP's YouTube channel has 3.6 million subscribers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' dislike spree that began after JEE and NEET topics were skipped in his address. Presently, lakhs of YouTube users have disliked the video uploaded by various YouTube channels and the dislikes are still increasing.

Netizens expected that the Prime Minister would talk about the ongoing controversy around various exams, several of them were disappointed after PM Modi skipped the topic in his address.
After his program, Twitter started to trend #Mann_Ki_Nahi_Student_Ki_Baat against the decision of conducting the engineering and medical entrance tests - JEE (Main) April 2020 and NEET-Undergraduate examinations - in September.
Netizens did not just stop at this and many chose to dislike the video of 'Mann Ki Baat' on YouTube to mark their protest.

Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy wrote, “I have phoned the PM residence this morning to try one last time for postponing NEET/JEE exams beyond Deepavali. The office secretary said that he will call back. If that happens I will inform the students.”

Dipankar Bhattacharya, an Indian politician and the general secretary of the Communist Party of India Liberation tweeted, “It has become a movement now. Dislikes keep swelling beyond the 300K mark, while the Modi camp could mobilise only a tenth of these numbers. When will the PM realise that he can play with toys in his propaganda, but can't play with the lives of students? #StudentsDislikePMModi”
