In Assam, with the fever of Tokyo Olympics sets in, fans, celebrities, leaders and organizations are extending their wishes to the lone contender representing the state.

Lovlina Borgohain, has been showered with abundance of wishes and good luck messages since the time of her selection. The political leaders of the state too joined in to extend their support and wishes to the 'Assam's daughter' as the grant event took off.

However, in this endeavour, some of the leaders have found themselves surrounded by trolls on various social media platforms.

These wish boards featuring Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Sports and Tourism Minister Bimal Bora are widely trolled on Facebook and other social media platforms.

"We never knew Lovlina were a man", commented one user on Facebook post.

Another user went on to say, "Hypocrisy at its best.....Who is pride of Assam!!!".

Reacting to the post, another Facebook user reposted a picture of an old board featuring former Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal welcoming Hima Das with no picture of the ace sprinter.

Even though the exact locations of the wish boards are yet to be confirmed, reports suggest that these boards are being hung at several locations across the state.

The circulation of these pictures has led the netizens to question whether such acts are right on the part of the leaders or it is just another publicity stunt.
