AGARTALA: Reacting to the recent violent attacks against minorities in Tripura, TIPRA Chief Pradyot Manikya made some strong remarks while urging people to maintain communal harmony in the state.

In a live video, the Royal scion said, "It is not our culture in Tripura to fight among ourselves being Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists etc", he said.

Warning the people who are responsible for the violence, Pradyot Manikya said, "Those who want to damage our culture, I am warning all of them that if you try to break us in the name of religion then you will find me at the field to fight with you".

"Our constitution treats us all equally. If anyone attempts to be powerful than the other, he will get the answer from us", he added.

He urged people to not believe in rumors on social media platforms.

"Several provoking posts and messages are doing rounds on social media platforms. Don't believe in these rumors".

Tripura has a different trend of politics. Perhaps, the rest of the country is not aware of it.

Recalling the CAA protests, the TIPRA leader said that when he was fighting against CAA and was Congress' president, nobody helped him.

"There were no protests from CPM. Only I was fighting alone", he said.

"Today also, I am protesting all alone on national media against these incidents happenning in Tripura", he said further.

Questioning other political clans, he said that he is surprised to see no reaction from any national leader on the attacks happening in Tripura.

"Local congress is keeping mum. Why is congress silent.. why is CPM silent?".

"Sushmita Dev gave a statement but why is Trinamool silent", he questioned.

"We all stuck in this vote bank politics", he said.

Speaking further about the consequences of the religious violence against minorities, Pradyot Manikya explained that such violence will give rise to conflict in Northeast eventually.

" If Muslims are attacked in Tripura, Hindus become the target in Bangladesh then Where would these Hindus go? They will migrate to Northeast. They will enter Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya etc. Then where will the small population of Tiprasa go? This will give rise to one more conflict.", he explained.

Concludingly, the royal scion appealed to TIPRA motha to not attack anyone in the name caste creed or religion.

"If this is happening anywhere then it is your duty to protect the minorities in that area", he added.

"Pradyot Manikya was, is or never will be communal", he further added urging everyone to maintain peace and harmony.
