Private hospitals in Dimapur to be reverted to non-COVID hospitals

DIMAPUR DIMAPUR

DIMAPUR: With the Covid positivity rate in Dimapur district showing a steady decline, all the private hospitals in the district will be reverted to non-Covid hospitals unless under an unavoidable situation.

However, the Covid positive patients presently admitted in the private hospitals will continue to be treated in these hospitals.

This was decided at a joint meeting of Private Doctors Association Dimapur with state nodal officer Y Kikheto Sema, Dimapur deputy commissioner Rajesh Soundararajan, Commissioner Police Rothihu Tetseo, Dimapur chief medical officer Dr. I Moatemjen team, and Dimapur DPRO Lolano Patton.

The meeting also decided that new Covid patients will be entertained by the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research and Dimapur District Hospital, who will also be attending to non-Covid cases.

Sema expressed appreciation and gratitude to all the frontline workers particularly the Private Doctors Association and private hospitals for coming forward and rescuing the people of the State during the crisis.

Soundarajan thanked the state nodal officer for personally visiting every hospital and having a one-to-one discussion with them. He said the collective efforts of all concerned bore fruit, breaking the chain of transmission.

Commissioner of police Tetseo acknowledged the tireless and sincere efforts of both the private and government doctors in bringing down the positivity rate.

CMO Moatemjen also thanked the PDA and the private hospitals and encouraged them to be mentally and physically prepared to deal with the third wave if it comes.

PDA president Dr. Victo A Wotsa said the private hospitals are willing to help the government in vaccinating the people without charging if it provides the vaccines and other requirements. He also stressed the need for a separate place for isolating the doctors taking care of Covid cases.
