RSS Accuses Manoj Vajpayee-led 'The Family Man' of Glorifying Terror and Portraying 'Anti-Hindu Sentiments'

Manoj Vajpayee's latest web-series, The Family Man, has stirred up a series of controversies, as it is being accused of portraying 'anti-Hindu' sentiments by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

An RSS-affiliated magazine, Panchjanya, has published an article on the Manoj Bajpayee-led 'The Family Man' and alleged that the Amazon web series are propagating 'jihad'.

Citing an example from the series, the article reads, "In the series, a woman affiliated to the National Investigating Agency (NIA) is shown speaking to her male colleague at Srinagar's Lal Chowk, decrying the fact that Kashmiris were being oppressed by the Indian state as it had shut down phones and internet and used measures like the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). At one point she asks her male colleague, who appears quite affected by her talk, whether there is any difference between the Indian administrative apparatus and the militants."

The magazine has also accused the web series of creating "sympathy for terrorists" and making terrorism seem "cool".

It may be mentioned here that 'The Family Man' is an Indian action drama web series on Amazon Prime Video created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K.. Starring Manoj Bajpayee and Priyamani in the lead roles, it tells the story of a middle-class man secretly working for the National Investigation Agency. The first season consists of 10 episodes, and can be availed on web streaming service, 'Amazon Prime'.
