RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat visits Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday morning visited the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati. Bhagwat visited the temple ahead of the two-day visit to Kolkata on December 12.

Bhagwat reached Guwahati on December 4 on his seven day visit to the Northeast states. The RSS Chief stayed in a secluded Ashram in Adimgiri Hills near Maligaon.

Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and top leaders of the ruling BJP met Bhagwat to discuss important political matters. However, he did not address any public rally.

The RSS Chief stayed in Guwahati till December 5 and then visited Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. After his visit to the two Northeastern states, Bhagwat returned back to the city on December 12 .

Mohan Bhagwat’s visit to Assam assumes significance as the state is all set for election in April next year. The ruling BJP has started massive preparation to retain power in Assam.
