Russian actress of 'Kanchana 3' fame found dead in Goa

PANAJI: Alexandra Djavi, a 24-year-old Russian woman, popularly known for her role as ‘Rosy ‘in ‘Kanchana 3’ was found dead in Goa on August 19.

According to the local police, the actress was found hanging dead from a ceiling fan in her in a rented home in Siolim village of North Goa.

Police Sub Inspector, Mahesh G Kerkar informed that Djavi was found hanging in her rented room at Gublawado, Oxel Siolim, Bardez Goa on August 19. Her fiance found the door locked when returned from Morjim.

As per the reports, The Goa police is waiting for the Russian Consulate's permission to conduct a postmortem of the actress’s body.

Whereas, Ekaterina Titova, 34 years old was found dead in a separate incident. Reportedly, PTI cited a senior police officer saying the body of Ekaterina Titova was recovered from her apartment on Friday.

The police said, “In two separate incidents, the women were found dead at their residences at a beach village in North Goa on two consecutive days.”

The Goa-based lawyer Vikram Varma informed that the post mortems on the remains of Djavi, as well as Ekaterina Titova would be conducted in presence of Russian consular officials soon.

Varma further added, “Regarding the 24-year-old, Alexandra, we have received information that she had been blackmailed in 2019 for sexual favours and after a preliminary enquiry, the Chennai Police had registered an FIR. But this is preliminary information and we hope that the Goa Police will investigate the matter thoroughly and rule out any possible suspicion in her death. “The FIR was registered in Chennai in 2019 after Djavi accused a photographer of harassing her for sexual favours.

Reportedly, the actress had been previously harassed in 2019 by a photographer in Chennai for sexual favours.
