Sal logs worth rupees 8 lakh seized in Assam’s Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: A truck loaded with illegal Sal logs was seized on Friday morning at Habrubil under Kachugaon forest division in Kokrajhar district of Assam.

Based on an information about the smuggling of sal logs, a joint operation was launched by a team comprising anti corruption and crime investigation

front of the 31st battalion of SSB Takampur, central range and Sanfan range forest staff. The smuggled logs were seized in the morning.

According to officials, timber mafias tried to smuggle the logs from Kachugaon forest reserve area.

The Market value of the seized Sal logs would be approximately Rs. 8 lakhs.
However, no one was arrested in this regard.
