In a great shot-in-the-arm to film-making education in the Northeast, the Film and Television Institute, Arunachal Pradesh, which is an extended campus of the the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata, is opening its doors to students from the Northeast to explore the vistas of filmmaking.

The ten-week long certificate program will be conducted from 14 October to 20 December, 2019. Twenty lucky students (with 10+2 educational qualification) will be a part of the programme, which will be conducted in Papumpare in Itanagar district.

The program seeks to teach the students that cinema in India is a very vast field that offers definite career options in its various departments at play and seeks to acquaint them with the knowledge of the “basic apparatus” and “sensibility” required in making films.

At the end of the program, the 10+2 students are expected to be able to chart a path for self to pursue filmmaking as a profession, and accordingly choose a graduation and a post graduation program that will empower them further in reaching the goal of creating cinema.
