Saurav Ganguly Health Update: 'Dada' stable after undergoing angioplasty in Kolkata

KOLKATA: Former Indian Cricket team skipper Saurav Ganguly is stable after undergoing angioplasty after suffering a mild cardiac arrest. Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata moments earlier gave a Saurav Ganguly Health Update and stated that he is "completely conscious" now. The former cricketer was shifted to the hospital after he complained of "chest pain" after running on his treadmill.

"Sourav Ganguly has undergone angioplasty. He is stable now. He will be monitored for 24 hours. He is completely conscious. There are two blockages in his heart for which he will be treated," Dr. Aftab Khan of the Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata, where he is undergoing treatment, said giving a Saurav Ganguly Health Update.

Ganguly's ECG showed hyperacute ST-segment elevation in inferior leads and lateral leads. "Echo showed mild inferior wall hypokinesia with preserved overall left ventricular function. He is stable hemodynamically. He has received loading doses of dual antiplatelets and statin and is undergoing primary angioplasty now," the hospital said in a statement earlier in the afternoon.
