Guwahati: With the Civic Body polls going on in Tripura, the Supreme Court of India has ordered the deployment of two additional Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) companies as early as possible.

The apex court ordered this amid the allegations by opposition parties that the members and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have been harassing the voters.

The SC added that the deployed companies shall remain in Tripura till the counting of votes on November 28.

The polls began at 7 AM, but the Trinamool Congress and the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) alleged that the BJP workers have been harassing the voters in the state while some of them have also been bullying candidates.

There are also allegations that some of the BJP workers have obstructed voters from entering polling booths while some people with masks have been threatening people to stay home.
