GUWAHATI: Schools in Assam for students of Class X of all government and private schools reopened today after a long gap due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Earlier on Thursday state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the development.
The government of Assam has allowed the schools to reopen while adhering to the COVID-19 protocols.
Before classes began, the classrooms and school grounds were thoroughly sanitized.
Meanwhile, the development made the students happy as they will again be able to do offline classes.
CM Sarma has asked the school authorities to ensure all school employees and staff are fully vaccinated.
It may be mentioned that with the improvement of COVID-19’s situation, lower primary classes will also reopen soon in phases, said state Education Minister Ranoj Pegu.
