IMPHAL: The schools in Manipur for the students of classes VI to VII will reopen from March 8, informed the state education department today.

 

Schools will be able to develop their own system of evaluation for the students in place of the annual evaluations, according to an official announcement.

 

“They should ensure that they adhere to the provisions under Section 29 of the Right to Education (RTE) Act 2009, in terms of curriculum and assessment procedures for elementary education,” stated in the notification.

“For students in classes V and below, evaluation should be done through home assignments, according to the provisions of Section 16 of the RTE Act 2009, as amended from time to time,” it said.

 

The notification also stated that schools affiliated with the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BoSEM) and the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (CoHSEM) will begin the 2021-2022 academic session in April 5, 2021.

 

Examinations for classes X and XII shall begin from the 1st week of May 2021.

Moreover, for the 2020-21 academic session students of class V and below will be given a one-time promotion as a special case.
