Seven Assam RJs shortlisted for most popular RJ of the year award; check the list

Guwahati, May, 13, 2019:

Assamese entertainment is on fire as seven of the Radio Jockeys from the state have been nominated for the ‘Most Popular RJ of the Year’ award for Excellence in Radio Awards 2019 conducted by the India Radio Forum (IRF).

The nominated RJs are from different radio channels such as Big FM, Red FM, and Radio Mirchi and have been selected from all over the North east.

It may also be notified that for the first time in ten years, AIR Akashvani is also nominated for the award.

According to reports, the nominees include Red FM’s RJ Pahi, and RJ Mandy, Big FM’s RJ Aaliya, RJ Shubhankar Baruah, and RJ Sujita Das, Radio Mirchi’s RJ Mirchi Cooldeep and All India Radio’s (Akashvani) Guwahati’s RJ Rituparna Das.

The results of the 45 categories for Excellence In Radio Awards have been declared but the winners of the ‘2019 Most Popular RJ of the Year’ category will be based on public online voting.

The nomination is based on the category of the most popular RJ of the year.

Moreover, the excellence in Radio Awards was created with the aim of supporting and recognizing quality in radio broadcasting in India.

Speaking to Inside Northeast, Big FM RJ Alia stated that, this is one of the most important awards for the RJ’s and this year it has been selected from whole of Northeast.

"Getting nominated in a national platform is a boon as the rest of the nation comes to know the talent of the state. Moreover I am nominated for the second time after I was the nominated for the first time from North East as the most popular RJ of the year", RJ Pahi from Red FM told InsideNE.

Moreover, RJ Cooldeep from radio Mirchi stated that, Radio is now catered to the digital platforms and being nominated for the most popular RJ of the year category is a blessing for him.
