How can You eat Bats and Dogs? Shoaib Akhtar Blames China's Fooding Habits for Coronavirus

Islamabad, March 15, 2020:

Shoaib Akhtar, the fiery speedster from town of Rawalpindi in Pakistan, weighing in on the coronavirus crisis that has put the international community on edge, has lambasted the Chinese for eating dogs and bats.

Akhtar said this in a lengthy YouTube video in which he discussed at length the problems caused by the COVID-19, that has caused several cricket tournaments to be cancelled.

"When Allah has given you livestock, have them.They want to eat bats everyday, eat their urine, their blood and spread the virus across the world....I am talking about the Chinese", Shoaib Akhtar said, and further added that he is "angry" and "fails to understand" why they are having these things.

The speedster also lamented that if there is a  "India does not have the capacity in hospitals, India or Bangladesh do not.." Akhtar also said that even people in first-world countries such as Italy are dying in the hundreds due to the COVID-19 and expressed that if third world countries, such as the ones in South Asia, are affected, it could cause immense damage to the millions living here.

Shoaib Akhtar also lamented that the entire world is in lockdown mode, and even the PSL in Pakistan, initiated to promote the local talents in Pakistan and provide them with a platform, is now under threat. "The foreign players are now returning", he lamented.

The Rawalpindi Express also opined that the cancellation of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will causes great losses to Star Sports and could lead to many people losing their jobs. All the organizations that is attached the Star will lose their livelihoods, the cricketing star further informed.

Akhtar attributed the misfortune to Allah, and said that these are worrying times and the losses to cricket -- both players and the sports industry -- are devastating. He also lambasted people for making fun of the coronavirus and "People are making fun over the coronavirus...please don't do this. Please take care of each other", he exhorted.

It is pertinent to mention here that in India, 100 people are infected with coronavirus till the filing of this report. Two deaths have also been reported – a 76-year-old from Karnataka and a 68-year-old from Delhi. Recovered cases stand at 10.

Countries like Italy and Spain have taken extreme precautions of locking down the entire country to contain the spread of the virus. While Italy had imposed a complete lockdown, Spain on Saturday evening declared ’emergency’ urging its people to stay home until two weeks.

The US has also declared national emergency. All the major sports activities have been postponed across the globe. In India, Indian Premier League has been postponed with a view to put ‘safety first’ over the rest. Mass gatherings, shopping malls, gyms, etc. have also been ordered to remain shut in many States of India.

The novel coronvirus has claimed as many as 5,839 lives worldwide, and 74,970 people are currently affected. 5,652 (8%) are said to be in serious/critical condition. Total cases currently is 156,745. Recovered cases stand at 75,936.
