Sikkim: The Family members had alleged that they were not properly informed about the timings of the cremation and they missed the cremation.

Munna Gurung a resident of Sikkim died due to Covid-19 and with co-morbid kidney ailments.

Son of late Munna Gurung, Bikash Gurung has filed a criminal complaint at Sadar Police against Medical Superintendent, Doctors on duty

and staff of New STNM hospital who involved in Munna Gurung's body handing over to GMC.

Son Bikash Gurung said: “We got a call from hospital that our mother died and cremation will be held on Tuesday at 2 pm but when we reached hospital they said the body has already been taken for cremation.

don't know whether the body was of our mother or not, earlier we were informed that few family members would be allowed

to witness the last rites in the afternoon. As the right intent would have allowed me to carry the last rites with COVID protocols,"

He further demanded that the concerned department should immediately clarify on the issue and those who are involved behind this negligence should be suspended from service.
