The Sikkim Education Department has directed all the heads, faculty members, support staff and other employees of Government schools, colleges and educational institutions including adhoc teachers and adhoc assistant professors to attend their duty compulsorily duty from September 1 if schools, colleges and educational institutions do not reopen.

In a circular issued today by the Education department, it stated that the employees of these educational institutions should be engaged in digital and offline ode of classes from their workplace adding that special care should be given to upkeep and maintenance of the institutions.

Education Secretary further stated that wide dissemination of National Education Policy, 2020 should be undertaken from  September 5 to September 25 along with Panchayati Raj Institutions. The department will select and deploy appropriate resource persons by district heads, SCERT, schools and College heads.

It may be recalled that from March 17 all the schools across the State are closed due to the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.
