Sikkim journalists play cricket to raise awareness about addiction

Gangtok, May 9, 2019:

In a move that is bound to raise awareness about addictive habits which do harm, the Press Club of Sikkim (PCS) played two friendly cricket matches at West Point Senior Secondary School playground in Gangtok on Wednesday.

The matches were organised with the support of Sikkim about addiction towards a Healthy India (SAATHI CELL) of West Point Senior Secondary School.

In the first match, a team of PCS defeated a team of Tathangchen-based rehab centre, Freedom Facility by 26 runs.

In the second match, another team of PCS was defeated by a team of West Point SSS teachers by 13 runs. After winning the toss, West Point SSS teacher’s team decided to bat first and gave the target of 153 to PCS. PCS scored 140 runs in 15 overs while chasing the target and lost the match by 13 runs.

It has to be mentioned here that PCS has been organizing different sporting events from time to time for its member's recreation
