PFA (People for Animals) Sikkim has lodged written FIR at Sadar police station complaining a dog (local breed, black and brown in color), 2 ½  yrs. old was reportedly killed by one Naren Tamang at Rongyek, Maney Dara, East Sikkim on 3rd August and culprit was arrested and later released on bail.

It came to know that the culprit was a government employee with the education department as a driver and MP Meneka Gandhi who Founder and Chairman of PFA called the concerned department and demanded suspension after that culprit was suspended from his duty.

FIR has been lodged under section 429 IPC, 1860, R/W SEC  11 of Prevention of Cruelty To Animal Act, 1960.

Members of PFA Sikkim said "in this case the Bacha (puppy) become a victim of a rift against the two families or neighbours. And here an unfortunate Bacha who was just 2and half years old was brutally murdered by a man named Naren Tamang from Manay Dara Rongay just to show how dangerous he could be or as a sign of warning to his uncle’s family. The incident took place on 3rd of August 2020 in Manay Dara Rongay around 2pm where usually bacha was tied at the corridor of the owner’s house.

“Bacha did not had any clue that he is going to be brutally murdered by a monster. The same da that monster came with khukuri and started stabbing Bacha on his head ,mouth until his tongue was into pieces. Bacha struggled for his life, he cried for help but unfortunately only lady owner was there and she was too scared to stop him. Bacha at his half concious state tried to run away but he failed and that monster again caught him and cut his ear and continuously hit him with Mungro on his head. After that he dragged him and threw him off the cliff nearby his house,” the organisation stated.

The organization further stated, “Our PFA team was informed by some police personnel from Sadar Thana about this case around 8 pm. As soon as we heard the news we came into action and lodged FIR against the culprit. Also police did a commendable job by arresting the culprit the same day around 10 pm. We went to the spot with police force and try to find the dead body which was not an easy task but finally with the help of police force we were able to find the dead body of a poor dog. It was in a woeful condition. After that we took the dead body for post mortem in Sarah hospital. Now the case has been registered and we will see him in the court. We are not going to spare this monster at any cost.”
