Sikkim minister, 8 support staff test positive for COVID-19

A Cabinet Minister in Sikkim government Sonam Lama and his eight support staff  have tested positive for COVID-19. Their samples were collected yesterday. With this, eight members of the Sikkim legislative assembly have contracted the virus so far, seven of them in the past week alone.

We shall update this information once the Minister makes a formal announcement which he is expected to do soon to caution those who might have been in contact with him over the past week. This is done since contact tracing for public figures who meet many people over the course of their day would otherwise be impossible.

Sources added that another public representative has also tested positive and this information too we shall update once a formal announcement is made by the person.
