Sikkim Pol Secy says he was not in state at time mentioned in rape complaint

GANGTOK: Jacob Khaling, Political Secretary to Sikkim Chief Minister, has denied being in Gangtok on the date and time mentioned in the FIR letter against him sent by an alleged rape victim and, which was being shared widely on social media, and after Sikkim Nagrik Samaj (SNS) brought it to media focus recently in a press conference.

"This is a conspiracy launched against me," said Jacob Khaling speaking with the media persons today.

Khaling has furnished reports by Hamro Varta, Himdarpan, Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) official page along with some other news pages showing him at a youth event in Soreng on the day mentioned.

He also informed that he has filed FIR against Passang Sherpa, Bharat Basnet, Tseten Tashi Bhutia of SNS along with some others at the Gangtok Police Station on Sunday.

"I am dragging all of them in the court. I have full faith in the judiciary," Khaling added.

Khaling termed all the allegations against him baseless and an attempt to tarnish his image and of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha.

Based on a viral FIR, SNS has accused Jacob Khaling of molesting a woman on Saturday, and the mentioned "victim" in the FIR Doncee Lama, who was appointed as Executive Member of Sikkim Women Commission, has denied ever filing any FIR against Khaling yesterday holding a press conference.
