Sikkim reports 9 more COVID deaths today; death toll reaches 192

GANGTOK: The death toll of COVID-19 in Sikkim has risen up to 192, with nine more people infected dying today.

The state reported as many as 231 fresh cases of the novel Coronavirus during the day, pushing the total number of cases in Sikkim to 10623.

Of the total new fatalities, eight deaths were reported from  STNM hospital while CRH Manipal reported one death.

Of the total new cases, East Sikkim alone reported 134 positive cases of the infection following West Sikkim (14 ), and South Sikkim (79), while no positive cases have been reported from North Sikkim.

Sikkim currently has 2946 active cases of COVID-19, while 142 people infected with the virus have so far been recovered during the day taking the tally of recoveries till date to 7277.
