Six-year-old gangraped by grandfather, another man in Bhopal

BHOPAL: A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped in front of her younger brother by her maternal grandfather and another man in Bhopal's Kolar district, a delayed report said yesterday.

There was no one else when her maternal grandfather raped the innocent. The incident occurred eight days ago, but the girl did not report it because she was afraid.

The two men were arrested based on information obtained from the girl and her three-year-old brother by counselors, said police. The two have been charged of gang rapeunder the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to the sources, a man, named Sanjay, took the siblings to his home and raped the girl along with her maternal grandfather, who raped her later.

According to the sources, the girl's mother on Thursday discovered something was wrong and was able to persuade her to talk about it. When her mother learnt the girl was hiding something, she approached her and asked her questions. The girl then informed her mother about the incident. The girl also told her mother about the pain in her stomach.

The two defendants gave her Rs 20 and persuaded her not to tell anyone about the incident.
