GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will take a private charter flight to New Delhi at 7 am today, to meet Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda.
Both Sonowal and Sarma are likely to meet Nadda at his residence at around 10.30 am, to discuss over the row for Assam’s chief minister’s post.
The BJP central leadership is yet to announce the next chief minister’s name even after the saffron party-led alliance made a landslide victory in the recently concluded Assam assembly elections, results of which were declared on May 2.
CM Sonowal and Sarma are the frontrunners for the top post.
