SpiceJet to launch Guwahati-Dhaka-Guwahati flight from July 1

Guwahati, June 2, 2019:

In a bid to make international air travel more affordable and convenient for the Indian populace, SpiceJet on Sunday announced the launch of Guwahati-Dhaka-Guwahati flight from July 1 under the International Air Connectivity scheme.

The July 1 flight from Guwahati to Dhaka would be the first to fly under the UDAN International scheme.

The airline has also announced the launching of 14 direct flights connecting metro and non-metro cities on its domestic network from June 20 onward.

“The airline will add additional frequencies on the Kolkata-Dibrugarh-Kolkata (2nd frequency), Guwahati-Dibrugarh-Guwahati (2nd frequency) and two additional frequencies on Bengaluru-Mangaluru-Bengaluru sector (total five flights now),” the airline said.

SpiceJet will also introduce new daily flights on the Bengaluru-Belagavi-Bengaluru route.

It may be mentioned that SpiceJet Limited is an Indian low-cost airline headquartered in Gurgaon, India. It is the second largest airline in the country by number of domestic passengers carried, with a market share of 13.6% as of March 2019.

Established as air taxi provider ModiLuft in 1994, the company was acquired by Indian entrepreneur Ajay Singh in 2004 and re-christened as SpiceJet.
