Sporting Icon Yuvraj Singh Retires From International Cricket

Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has finally brought the curtains today down on an illustrious career which spanned nineteen years. He announced his retirement from international cricket in a press conference in Mumbai.

The swashbuckling lefty made his debut in the ICC KnockOut Trophy in Kenya and impressed in his the very first match he got to bat against Australia, scoring a match-winning 84.

After making his debut, Yuvraj soon made his name as one of the most destructive batsmen in international cricket as he played many a memorable innings.

Yuvi, who was adjudged 'Man of the Series' in India's winning World Cup campaign in 2011, scored 11,788 runs across all three formats of the game. He had played his last international match in 2017.

Yuvraj is perhaps best known for being a 'big match player' as he helped India win the inaugural World T20 in 2007 and then the 50-over World Cup in 2011 in India.

He was adjudged the Player of the Tournament in both as he amassed 148 runs at 29.60 including the famous six sixes in an over that he hit against England's Stuart Broad in the quarter-final of the tournament.
