Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University, Chabua announced its first four-year undergraduate program in Physical Education BPEd (Hons) today.
Addressing a press conference in Dibrugarh today, Prof. J.P. Verma, Vice-Chancellor of Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University announced that the University is going to start the BPEd course as per the New Education Policy, 2020 with multiple exit options from the academic year 2020-21.
The Vice-chancellor stated that the complete four-year BPEd (Honours) is an undergraduate professional program in physical education with research thesis. But in this course, the students will have the option to exit after completing one, two or three years of education with a Certificate in PE, Diploma in PE or Bachelors in PE respectively. He also stated that this undergraduate program in Physical Education will prepare the students for a career in physical education and related professions such as work in schools, sports administration, fitness and health clubs, law enforcement, yoga centres, hospitality industry, etc.

Prof Verma further announced that in view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the selection of students will be done through online admission process. One may visit www.sasu.ac.in, the official website of Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University for further details of admission.
The Vice-Chancellor further stated that the classes for 2020-2021 session will be held from January, 2021.
The press conference was also attended by Sanjoy Dutta, Registrar, Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University.
